Board Practical Examination

Important information regarding preparation of Practical Examination is given here.

  • Display your board roll number on the Practical notebooks

  • Maintain index Page
  • Attach drawing sheet for the prism
  • Write the ranges of ammeter and voltmeter in experiment of diode or resistivity
  • Write the least counts of ammeter and voltmeter in experiment of diode or resistivity
  • Indicate the angle of minimum deviation in the graph of prism
  • Always make arrow to show the direction of rays.
  • Darken the points in pencil where pins were pierced on the paper in case of minimum deviation
  • Write scale for X axis and Y axis on all graphs. Write the voltage, current or any other quantity and it's unit on the axes as per the experiment.

Following records are submitted on the day of the examination. Do not forget to carry them.

  • Practical Notebook
  • Activity Notebook
  • Project file

The exam copy which a student picks up will carry a paper strip on which two experiments and one activity is written as the Aim of the Practical as given below

AISSCE PHYSICS PRACTICAL EXAMINATION 2023-24

A. To determine resistivity of two wires by plotting a graph for potential difference versus current. B. To find the focal length of a convex mirror, using a convex lens.

Activity:To identify a diode, an LED, a resistor and a capacitor from a mixed collection of such items.

Procedure is not to be written for the two experiments.

Aim, apparatus, formula, ray diagram/circuit diagram, observation, calculation/graph, result and precautions are to be written.

For the activity, everything as written in the notebook is written.

The order of experiments may be A then B or B then A. You have to perform Practical and write as per the order. The reverse order is given here. In this case initially the student has to write B.

B. To find the focal length of a convex mirror, using a convex lens.  A. To determine resistivity of two wires by plotting a graph for potential difference versus current.

Activity:To identify a diode, an LED, a resistor and a capacitor from a mixed collection of such items.

  • Be very disciplined on the day of examination in the laboratory for positive effects.
  • Reach school atleast 30min before the batch time.
  • Carry all the essential things like tiffin, water bottle, geometry box, pen, pencil, rubber, eraser with you.
  • Be in the school uniform.
Other way of distribution of board practicals in the laboratory
Practicals are written on the board and in front of the different Aims, roll numbers of students are written. Students write the aim of the practical belonging to his particular roll number and perform. For example Let your roll number be 19, then can you know what the two practicals and one activity are allocated to you from the distribution sheet shown below?
